User Experience Designer
at Kohl's Corporation (Anywhere)
The User Experience Designer will leverage the voice of the Kohl's customer to craft on-brand experiences that meet customer expectations and measurable business goals throughout the digital shopping journey. The UX Designer will produce user-centered design (UCD) deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, user interactions, visual mockups, and prototypes. These assets will facilitate business and consumer alignment throughout the product development lifecycle, and support the planning and execution of customer experiences across Kohl's organizational disciplines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
UX design
- Create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors for Kohl?s.com, Mobile, Kiosk and social experiences
- Develop low and hi fidelity prototypes for consumer and business evaluation.
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and documentation
UX research support
- Collaborate with UX research team to plan and execute research actives that drive Kohl's User-- - Centered Design process example: usability testing
UX process and methodologies
- Provide an expert opinion in the area of user experience and usability
- Develop and maintain Kohl's user experience DNA to ensure consistency and consumer familiarity throughout the digital ecosystem.
- Assist in creation, governance, and maintenance of interaction, usability, and accessibility standards
- Contribute to Kohl's overall UX maturity. This includes creating and refining processes and developing tools and templates that can be applied company-wide
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in design, human computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- Expert understanding of methods for designing easy to use interfaces in a variety of web-based and mobile formats including social applications ( FaceBook)
- Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Visio, OmniGraffle, Flash/Flex, Axure, --HTML/CSS/JavaScript, MS Expression, and Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred:
- Preferably experince with high-volume B2C with Web, Mobile, and Kiosk
- Familiarity with javascript and the jQuery library (or comparable)
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application
