Silver Tail was founded by a team of fraud prevention experts who built anti-fraud and anti-phishing tools at eBay and PayPal.

Combining experience with cutting-edge proprietary algorithms, Silver Tail has built highly scalable products that minimizes false positive rates and are extremely flexible at adapting to changing fraud attack vectors through the use of Silver Tail’s unique behavior analysis algorithms. Silver Tail Systems Forensics and Mitigation products help divert and block bad behavior in real-time. Silver Tail customers are some of the largest sites on the Internet spanning multiple industries. We are cash-flow positive, growing rapidly and looking to add high caliber professionals to our team.

Silver Tail is looking for a world class UX architect that will drive the definition, evolution and implementation of the user aspects of our award winning anti fraud solution. The solution is used by various levels of financial and eCommerce employees from C-level executives through to fraud and InfoSec analysts to see the big picture down to identifying and possibly mitigating fraud in real time. This is an opportunity to build on our initial user experience and create something that takes a leaf out of the notebook of companies such as Apple.

Responsibilities:

Define and drive an incredible UX as part of a larger product team and be a full participant in the engineering life cycle. This includes working closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to create an aesthetic vision and help translate it into a successful interactive browser-based application.

User research: organizing end user interviews and usability tests as input into the design process.

Interaction design: work with product management to take high level requirements or use cases and elaborate those as process flows & wireframes.

User interfaces design: create the reference UI patterns that will create the visual signature for all of Silver Tail’s products. Evolve wireframes into high fidelity mockups.

Product design: collaborate with product management and engineering on various aspects of the product design & development process

Qualifications:

• High energy – keeps a fast pace and encourages others to keep up with them
• Nosy – knows enough about product management to call out bad inputs.
• Knows enough about UI software development to call out bad outputs.
• Persistence – can visualize what a win looks like and won’t accept less than that
• Attention to detail –keeps iterating on an issue until they’re satisfied they’ve found the optimal solution for the user
• Good taste

Requirements:

• Demonstrated hands on experience developing commercial products
• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years experience in UX architecture
• Ability to create tangible deliverables out of requirements, primary and secondary research
• Experience in delivering products end to end - from conception to release
• Proven experience in partnering with product management and engineering
• Strong eye for visual and interaction design
• Experience in prototyping designs
• Experience in creating and conducting usability tests
• Competencies in graphical design tools such as Omnigraffle or Photoshop
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
• An online portfolio

Nice to have:

• Experience in creating developer tools
• HTML/CSS, Javascript for prototyping, particularly JQuery.
• An understanding of XML, databases and data structures
• Experience designing search-based interfaces
• Experience with data/information visualization
• Mobile design experience
• Experience founding a new project and taking it to completion or successful launch.
