UI/ Human Factors Tech Lead - web and mobile

The UI/UX Technical Lead will be responsible for driving development and implementation of the UI for the Joingo suite of Mobile Application Solutions, including our Web browser-based “self-service” application suite, design of company Web site and mobile applications, and social media integration. Responsibilities are to provide hands-on technical vision, leadership, architecture and programming/coding required to realize the customer‘s UI/UX vision.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Own the UI/UX development strategy, architecture and code base, focusing on User Interface infrastructure and applications
2. Work with Product Marketing / Management to define architecture, feature sets and delivery platforms
3. Work with cross-functional engineering team to build and deliver advanced products to the marketplace
4. Own all change requests: Research; Troubleshooting; Debugging; Correct and test all changes
5. Continually update UI to keep sites current and improve customer experience
6. Keep apprised of “Best Practices” and current technologies for Web systems, networking and client/server architecture
Deliverables:
1. UI Development Plan, Architecture, Design, Schedule, Implementation, Testing, Roll-Out
2. Design Documents (as required)
3. User Interface software from concept to installation/testing, then live operations and distribution
4. Test Plans and Documents for high Quality Assurance
Core Technical Skills:
1. Min. 5+ years with UI Design using HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript plus frameworks (ExtJS, jQuery, Prototype, etc.)
2. Min. 5+ years working with LAMP environment, Python preferred, and integrating Open Source Software
3. Demonstratable expertise in database design and programming experience with MySQL
4. Min. 3+ years using Django and Python in a production environment
5. Experience with interface technologies such as XML, JSON, REST, etc.
6. Strong experience with two or more of the following: email/VoIP/IM collaboration, GUI/command-line interfaces, distributed source control & build systems, defect tracking, editors, debugging plug-ins, Knowledge Bases/CMS
7. Knowledge of MVC frameworks
Qualifications:
1. BS/BE/MS in Computer Science or related field preferred
2. 8+ years min. of hands-on experience developing browser-based applications
3. Proven ability to turn-around product objectives and requirements into documented plans, architecture & design, mock-ups, producing and testing code, deployment plans, and QA test plans
4. Proven ability to lead & assist designers, developers, and testers from concept to live implementation in fast-paced commercial environment
5. Ability to write high-quality, well-documented, maintainable and testable code
6. Passionate to work in a start-up environment – previous start-up experience a plus - Ability to manage time, switch/drop/catch tasks, change focus, communicate clearly, document common tasks, etc. in an Agile Dev. Environment
