User experience designers are involved in every stage of the product development process from brainstorming, wireframes, iterating on ideas, and providing assets for implementation.

• Translate broad concepts into something useful that drives better investment decisions for SigFig users
• Design simple but elegant flows that give users immediate and immersive experiences
• Present large amounts of data in easy-to-understand graphical forms
• Work with PMs and engineers from concept to go-live to ensure designs are suited for real implementation
• Work closely with our other designers to establish standards, solicit feedback, and help shape the SigFig design group

What we look for:

Strong Consumer Web Portfolio — You have a strong portfolio, including designing for major web properties, and clearly have years of experience worked into your designs

Advocate for HCI and UI Best Practices — You have a background in human computer interaction, or you can demonstrate that your intuition is a substitute

Versatile Visual Design Skills — You demonstrate the ability to easily convey complex ideas based on large data sets, or, you can take an abstract term and create the perfect icon that matches our users’ mental modelsFront-end

Development Experience — You wont be relied upon for implementing all of your ideas, but it’s a huge plus if you can work with modern front-end technologies to implement testable concepts (HTML, CSS, AJAX, HTML5, etc.)

Excellent Team Player — You will work across business, product, and engineering teams to develop new products, and you must be adept at navigating relationships with all of them. SigFig products require cross-team collaboration to find just the right mix of business, finance, product, design, and engineering perfection

Investing Experience — Investing experience is HUGE. You need to have good sense of what’s important to investors and why existing web solutions are direly lacking
