Consumers come to Thumbtack to tell us what they need, and we use our network of 250,000 registered service professionals to find them quotes. Thumbtack makes money by charging sellers for the jobs we bring them.

For two years we focused on backend tools and building a strong network of businesses around the country. We feel like we have yet to hit v1 of our product, and now we are looking for talented designers to take charge and re-envision our product from the ground up to leverage our amazing network.
As our Lead UX Designer, you’ll work directly with product engineers and our business team to conceptualize, design, and prototype new products and features. You’ll also shape the design team, our product process, and you’ll have ultimate responsibility for the Thumbtack brand and experience.

- Excellent, demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong portfolio with evidence of self-started projects
- Exceptional visual talent, you can explain ideas with sketches and wireframes
- Communication skills that can deftly articulate your decisions
- Real curiosity for user experience and crafting products that delight
- Proactive about offering solutions to problems ranging from product features to process
- Impeccable taste
Bonus points
- Ability to prototype and build what you design
- Knowledge of PHP, Python, or other scripting languages
- Mobile design/development experience
- Active in the design community
