Graphic Designer - User Interface
The UI Graphic Designer will be central to the look-and-feel of both desktop and web applications in order to create highly efficient and intuitive GUIs that ensure a great user experience.
The position requires strong visual design skills, complemented with a solid understanding of information design with the ability to work closely with developers to integrate the GUIs into desktop and web applications.
Role & Responsibilities:
As a UI Graphic Designer you shall be able to:
•Turn basic sketch/wireframe concepts and feedback into creative design solutions.
•Be creative within brand guidelines. (key requirement)
•Identify and create visual elements that support the display of complex data in as simple a manner as possible, while maintaining the value intrinsic to the data.
•Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with user experience colleagues, product managers and development teams to develop compelling designs.
Qualifications & Experience:
•Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design or other new media studies.
•5+ years experience with user interface graphic design (interaction design a plus).
•Strong understanding of user-centred design, usability, interaction and graphic design principles.
•Artistic sense and demonstrable attention to detail with proficiency in software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools.
•Ability to deliver finished UI layouts and associated assets/artwork necessary to produce working applications.
•Passionate about technology and web/software design.
•Self-motivated and able to work independently, or collaborate with a team.
A portfolio of work which displays talent, intelligence, technical ability and an informed view of current web/software design trends will be required as part of the interview process.
