User Experience Designer
at Code and Theory in San Francisco

We are seeking a well-rounded User Experience (UX) Designer to join our creative and energetic team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will help conceptualize and document a variety of digital design projects, including working in: web, mobile, UI, applications, TV, and other systems.
Responsibilities include:
• Be an advocate for the end-user
• Document use cases, wireframes, prototypes, storyboards and mockups to effectively communicate designs
• Understand basic information architecture and organizational concepts including site maps and taxonomies
• Build and maintain library of UX tools and templates
• Writing and communicating design specifications and requirements
• Analyze and assist in user research & business strategy
• Collaborate with visual designers, technical developers, strategists and producers
• Experienced with common design, image processing, and production tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite products)
Candidate Requirements include:
• 2 - 5 years experience designing online or related multimedia interactions
• Curiosity to innovate and develop solutions to design problems
• Passion for the latest trends in interactive experiences across a variety of media and devices
• Strong user-centered design focus and ability to understand the needs of clients and prospective audiences
• Self-motivated and self-managing
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and be highly organized in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• BA and/or MFA in human factors, graphic design, interface design or multimedia related field
• Candidates should be process oriented, conceptually driven
• Applicant's portfolios should demonstrate user experience design, documentation and prototyping skills.
