UX Designer
at Media Gobbler, Inc in Los Angeles
Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced
UX Designer
We are looking for someone who can to make our application shine as brightly as the technology that makes it work. Can you lead and inspire? You will not spend your days managing - this is a startup. You will be responsible for everything from defining our visual identity and product look to directing the ongoing design development of our software. Your days will be packed designing features, organizing the site’s content, creating wireframes, and beautifying the gruesome stuff that programmers make.
Daily Responsibilities:
You will be involved in every aspect of the software and website design, from the initial concepts to the nuts & bolts implementation, and as the team grows you will eventually be responsible for freelancers, contractors, and junior designers. On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with the programmers who implement your beautiful designs (the same engineers who sometimes wreck your masterpieces by adding a last-minute button to them in a random place) and the managers who help shape the direction of our product.
Requirements:
4 years of art/design experience
Photoshop and Illustrator expertise
Interaction design expertise; demonstrated through recent work building applications
Self-motivated, self-managing, and detail-oriented
Pluses:
Management experience
Startup experience
Avid user of software on multiple platforms (web, Mac, Windows, iPhone, etc)
Familiarity with the “best practices” of software design for Mac and Windows
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript
This is a full-time position working in our Hollywood offices.
