Full-time UI/UX Designer

Extensis is seeking an outstanding User Interface / Experience Designer to join our Product Management team.

Job Purpose:
In this role, the User Interface / Experience Designer will work with the Product Managers, Engineers and Customers to create an intuitive and cohesive look, feel and overall user experience for our products. The ideal candidate must be passionate about product design and bring significant experience and authority to the process of designing better user interaction for Extensis products.
We want a talented UI/UX Designer to help continuously innovate and, in some cases, overhaul our products to help us maintain market leadership. We need a person who can “own” the user experience across a variety of interfaces and experiences, effectively guiding the product teams.
With the advent of more mobile and cloud/web-based apps, we see a mixture of experiences being beneficial to this role – Our expectation is that the ideal candidate will expand their experience in these and many areas beyond “traditional application” design, over time.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with a cross-functional, Agile team that includes engineers, QA engineers and product managers to create simple, easy-to-use software.
• Brainstorm, research, wireframe, design and refine user experiences - all within specified product requirements and deadlines.
• Develop and perform usability sessions with key stakeholders and customers to get feedback.
• Gather data from multiple user research inputs to create and prioritize usability initiatives for all products.
• Deliverables include wireframes, workflow diagrams, interactive mockups and prototypes.
• Responsible for working with visual designers (internal and contractors) on product color schemes/themes and artwork, including icons, controls and other in-product graphics

Skills/Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
• 5+ Years of Interaction/Usability/Interface Design for consumer and business products
• 3+ Years of experience, designing Mac OSX applications is required
• Additional experience in some/all of the following is a plus: An ideal candidate will have broad expertise in UX/UI such that they can develop approaches that translate into other contexts and across devices.
o Windows, including Metro UI and Windows interface concepts and best practices
o Web Sites and Web Applications (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
o Mobile and Tablet Apps (iOS, Android)
• Possess a thorough understanding of user-centered design principals with the ability to distill highly-complex user design issues into clean, understandable solutions
• Demonstrate keen communication skills and be able to work with a wide variety of individuals
• Be able to show a comprehensive portfolio of recent UI and UX work
• Some ability to write code (Java, C++, and Objective-C) may be beneficial, but not required.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experience required.
