Principal UX/UI Designer
at Nuance Communications in Burlington, MA
Works closely with Product Management, Engineering and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed design prototypes
- Develops conceptual models and prototypes to help stakeholders envision proposed solutions
- Makes design recommendations based on usability standards and best practices
- Ensures consistency across solutions and products delivered by the division
- Develops and administers usability testing and product evaluations
- Participates in design reviews
- Keep abreast of current and future UI/UX research and trends to ensure best practice compliance
Number of Years of Work Experience:
10+ years of interaction design / information architecture experience
10+ years of usability test creation and administration experience
10+ years of web-based application UI/UX design
Required Skills: Fluent in a wide range of design blueprinting and UI modeling tools
Extensive experience with Usability Testing methods
Proven ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language, and vice versa
Ability to communicate in writing, in person and in presentation
Fluent in web standards
Deep understanding of cross-platform application and browser differences
Experience with web-based application design
Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum
Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to collaborate positively and interactively with persons of all skill levels
Preferred Skills:
Healthcare experience a plus
Exposure to Google Web Toolkit a plus
Exposure to application environments including Java/J2EE, JavaScript/HTML/CSS and C#/.Net
Education: Human Factors, UI, BFA degree or equivalent experience
