Full-time Senior Researcher, Applied Cognition

FMG is seeking an experienced, intelligent, and motivated researcher to join our Applied Cognition Division to support and expand FMG’s research capabilities across private and public sector clients. This individual’s primary responsibility will be to provide subject matter expertise and oversee the work of multiple research teams conducting focus groups, in-depth interviews, user research, and qualitative research.

Responsibilities include:
Provide client account management to understand needs, manage expectations, and build long term relationships (including business development and proposal activities).
Responsible for management and supervision of multiple research projects, including providing quality control, supervising project staff, and implementing financial controls for projects.
Responsible for management and supervision of multiple staff members, including providing support, technical leadership, and overall managerial/mentoring for the team.
Responsible for team’s climate and employee development, ensuring employee performance, growth, and satisfaction with FMG
Oversees the design, execution and interpretation of diverse qualitative and user research methods, to include focus groups, interviews, UX testing, and field studies
Work under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a social science field, such as Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Communication Science, or related field.
Strong qualitative analysis background.
Experience designing or conceptual frameworks to explain psychological processes.
Experience designing and conducting research with participants/users.
Minimum of four years of experience (post-degree) leading research projects (experience with government agencies a plus).
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
Demonstration of strong verbal and written communications skills.
Willingness and ability to learn new research methods and analyses.
